Disappointed Reaction to the New Yukon Government

The people of Yukon deserved honesty, accountability, and leaders who put taxpayers first , instead they got empty promises and self‑interest. Campaign pledges were sold as commitments but delivered as excuses. While Yukoners struggle with everyday costs and vital services, this new government chose costly priorities that ignore the real needs of communities.

What we were told during the campaign, solutions for housing, healthcare, and cost of living—has too often been replaced by rhetoric and budget choices that favor insiders. Promises that once offered hope now read like lines on a brochure, not a plan. Performance for the public sits at zero, while political bonuses and protections seem to be the only things investors in this administration can count on.

Currie Dixon and the Yukon Party were positioned as familiar stewards of local values. Instead, many see them as architects of decline: decisions that endanger long‑term prosperity, sideline public priorities, and deepen distrust. For voters who believed in change, this feels like betrayal , a government that treats Yukoners as afterthoughts and taxpayers as revenue streams to be tapped whenever convenient.

This is more than disappointment; it’s a warning. Accountability matters. Yukoners must hold their representatives to the promises made , and demand policies that restore dignity, prioritize essential services, and manage public money with integrity. If that doesn’t happen, the cost will be paid by communities across the territory for years to come.

The one thing for sure a local born raised premier and his party will be known in history as the one party that destroyed Yukon forever. Congratulations going on 6 months, a new record for destruction in public trust.
