To Kate White and the Yukon NDP,

Enough you fucking hypocrite. Your silence since the election is not just disappointing, it’s an insult. We have reached out repeatedly about critical issues facing our territory and received nothing in return: no replies to emails, no engagement on our website, no accountability. That silence speaks louder than any promise.

You talk about standing up for people well I see you stepping on their necks, yet you spent years quietly supporting Liberal budgets and backdoor deals that left many Yukoners behind. Those “agreements” benefited your party’s position, and perhaps even individuals inside it, while the real problems continued to get band‑aids and soundbites. When a chance for real change came, you chose political convenience over courage.

Don’t mistake our anger for ignorance. We see what’s happening: a fucking political class that treats voters like props, they demand our trust, then sell us compromises, fuck you . The system is failing people because parties keep propping it up instead of fixing it. Throwing money at symptoms while protecting the structures that cause them is not leadership, it’s maintenance of the status quo. Stop bitching and get with program and start working to find solutions instead of fucking bad mouthing everyone because you wont get what you want.

Then you send out a fucking email boasting your dissatisfaction on what is happening to Yukon, fuck you it's your fault as well. In your campaign sign "you can count on Kate" my ass. You can count on Kate to fuck everyone just so you can pretend you care, as you climb the political ladder. You use words like Pride fuck you and your privilege victim card. You talk about climate action fuck you, How about all those fucking diesel generators you run for hydro that pollutes the shit out of the air in the winter, that turns Whitehorse into a industrial polluting town. All you fucking complain about is holly fuck hydro is expensive and we need subsidies. fuck, anymore you would want it for free.

Free fucking bus rides, free health care, free drugs etc.. How about you get off your fucking ass and help yourself. The world we live in is not free. I can guarantee if a fucking vote came up in the legislatture that that politician want a financial pay raise you would fucking vote yes in a New York minute. So now that I unleashed my personal opinion suck it up because I don't suck dick.

We are independent and unapologetically pro–free speech; we’re not bought, and we won’t be pacified. If you want our support, start by listening and stop fucking blaming others for something you were part of. Answer the emails. Show up publicly and explain how your past choices will lead to real solutions now. Stop hiding behind party lines and start taking responsibility. Stop trying to give everything for fucking free.

Until then, don’t be surprised when Yukoners speak plainly and loudly. We deserve better than politics as usual.

Fuck that felt good

Sincerely, The Dying Yukon

Yukon Party Government hands out heating rebates to help winter electricity demand meanwhile Whistle Bend has Christmas light competition.

When Yukon Party politicians living in Whistle Bend have no problem seeing or even participating in a Christmas light competition, when the rest of Yukon has to conserve electricity is now a two class system. I live in a rural community-based on the availability of electricity and trying to do my part in energy savings but I'm not sacrificing my time for the snobs in Whistle Bend to look good and enjoy the festivities while the rest of Yukon is struggling to make ends meet. The Yukon electricity is running about 92% capacity this year in the coldest winter in recent years. Now our famous government wants to reward the abusers. Why bother while our power shuts down often does the elite in Whistle Bend think about us? I've had countless conversations in my community that Whistle Bend is going to be a real big problem for everyone in Yukon as the special treatment they receive is starting to upset a lot of people.

YUKONTARIO.COM OBSERVATION OF THE DAY. BEFORE AND AFTER

Will Premier Dixon appease the New majority Liberals Government's tyrannical rules and regulations for Federal Funding

To the editor,

Many Yukoners voted for the Yukon Party believing in fiscal prudence and territorial autonomy. Recent developments like new firearms regulations and buyback proposals and internet censorship, paired with measures that could limit public discourse , suggest a troubling pivot. Instead of honoring campaign promises, the government appears to be leveraging policy changes to secure federal funding and relieve budget pressure. This undermines trust and betrays taxpayers who expected conservative stewardship. If the Yukon faces fiscal strain, the government should explain the situation transparently, present alternatives, and involve the public in decisions that affect fundamental rights and local control. Yukoners deserve clear accounting of negotiated terms with Ottawa and assurance that any federal assistance won’t come at the cost of our autonomy. We must demand accountability and protect the principles that motivated our votes.

My opinion while I still have one

Yukon Party's Federal Funding Negotiations

Current Financial Situation

The Yukon Party is actively seeking to increase the territory’s debt limit from $1.2 billion to $3 billion. This request is crucial for managing a record budget deficit of $81.8 million, the largest in Yukon’s history. The increase in the debt cap is necessary to ensure the territory can continue to fund essential services and infrastructure projects.

Reasons for the Request

Record Deficit: The Yukon government is facing significant financial challenges, with a budget that reflects a need for immediate fiscal adjustments. Essential Services: The increased debt limit would allow the government to maintain funding for critical services such as healthcare and energy infrastructure. Economic Growth: By securing additional funding, the Yukon Party aims to support economic development initiatives and improve the overall financial health of the territory. Implications of the Negotiations

Aspect Current Situation Proposed Change Debt Limit$1.2 billion Increase to $3 billion Budget Deficit$81.8 million Aim to eliminate by 2028-29Financial Health Maxed out credit capacity Ability to fund essential services Infrastructure Projects Limited funding available Enhanced capacity for development. The Yukon Party's negotiations with the federal government are critical for addressing these financial challenges and ensuring the territory can meet its obligations while planning for future growth. So it looks like the Yukon Government has no choice but to back track some of the campaign promises, in other words backstab the voters in forcing them to the Liberals tyrannical laws and control with all it's chains attached to our necks like the rest of broken Canada. Money always come with a sacrifice. yukontario.com

I agree Richard , it's not just the Yukon government; it's also Whitehorse's mayor and council. Yukon itself is changing: the more people you attract, the more long-term residents will suffer or have a hard time adapting to the fast paste of big city life, something Yukon is not known for. For example, jobs are being handed to Ontario residents and our infrastructure are now collapsing. Just driving around town, it feels like "Toronto on steroids" with that attitude to match. Unfortunately, I see no recovery for the old Yukon. The government will definitely capitalize and get on board to profit from new developments and "improve" Yukon. Enjoy it now, like the old days of the gold rush it will only be a distant memory.

Does anybody remember "YUKON TIME"

The government in Yukon is showing signs of corruption that benefit interests across Canada while exploiting local residents. Politicians find it easier to mislead taxpayers and continue business as usual than to address the territory’s real needs. This exploitation harms Yukoners’ quality of life and widens inequality, as outside parties profit from local resources and opportunities. To fix this, Yukon's government must increase transparency, enforce stronger conflict-of-interest rules, and prioritize local voices in decisions about land, resources, and public services. Independent oversight, community-led consultations, and fair economic policies would restore trust and ensure prosperity benefits residents first. The problem is Yukon is starting to experience the level of being used to pushed an agenda that is not suitable for Yukon way of life.

Concerning development in Whitehorse Whistle Bend as a privileged enclave

As a long-time Whitehorse resident, it's shameful that our mayor and council are prioritizing spending in Whistle Bend instead of addressing mounting municipal debt. This council is on a collision course: when the credit card is maxed out, you don't expand into a new subdivision that caters to luxury tastes.

Whistle Bend is shaping up as a privileged enclave while the rest of Whitehorse falls into disrepair. Investing in exclusive new housing and upscale amenities now risks deepening inequality, straining municipal finances, and leaving essential services and existing neighbourhoods neglected. Residents worry the area will become a gated community for the privileged, even as roads, infrastructure, and community supports elsewhere deteriorate.

Council should halt costly expansion plans and redirect resources to repair and maintain the city we already have, rather than betting our fiscal future on a development that benefits a few while burdening many.

Whitehorse City Mayor and Council are on a spending spree with a maxed out credit card

Editors' Note

It's funny I had to install this picture as it will represent the new Whitehorse. Unfortunately it seem that municipal corporation think that money grows on trees. If Whistle Bend wants luxuries maybe it's time to raise taxes for that subdivision so the rest of Whitehorse can benefit and we all look fancy.

Great website a must for British Columbia. After exploring it, I thought Yukon was the last place to see all the problems we face here in B.C., but clearly the grass isn’t always greener. Keep exposing and reporting. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks Rick. Would be nice if our politicians would respond. But in reality when you open the doors to outsiders the bad comes with it. pretty sure there involved some how to get more federal moneys.

To the Editor/Website Owner,

It is deeply disappointing that you chose to publish content that demeans members of our community. By circulating these stories you undermine the collective effort we have worked to build and betray the trust that binds us. This is not journalism—it is sensationalism dressed up as news, and it causes real harm to real people.

You should reconsider your editorial standards immediately. Continuing to promote this kind of content will only erode whatever credibility you claim to have and further fracture a community that deserves better. I urge you to take responsibility and remove or correct these pieces, and to commit to reporting that informs rather than damages.

EDITORS RESPONSE

Thank you for sharing your opinion anonymously it clearly reveals your discomfort with viewpoints that challenge the status quo. If your instinct is to silence dissenting voices because they expose dissatisfaction with those in power, that is both cowardly and dangerous.

Freedom of speech is a fundamental right, not a privilege you get to grant or revoke based on comfort or convenience. You have no right to remove or suppress legitimate expression simply because it makes you or your allies uneasy. Attempts to censor discussion under the guise of “responsibility” or “standards” are thinly veiled efforts to preserve a narrow, self-serving narrative.

If you believe criticisms are misguided, counter them with facts and reasoned argument not deletion. The community deserves transparency and robust debate, not gatekeeping. Stop pretending editorial control gives you moral authority to silence others.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing as a resident of Whitehorse to express my serious concern regarding recent developments highlighted in a widely circulated video. The content of that video indicates a disturbing reordering of priorities at the national level, and I am seeing echoing signs of the same pattern here in the Yukon involving Kate White and the Yukon NDP.

I believe elected officials must prioritize policies that directly address the everyday needs of constituents: affordable housing, healthcare access, public safety, and economic stability. When attention shifts toward issues that appear disconnected from these basic responsibilities, public confidence in government erodes.

I respectfully urge local and territorial leaders to reassess current priorities, engage transparently with the public, and ensure policy decisions are grounded in practical outcomes that improve the lives of Yukoners.

Sincerely, Dan G. Whitehorse, Yukon

EDITORS RESPONSE

Thanks for your letter Ya it's pretty bad and to publicly display this type of behavior from the NDP national party is wild. Jack Layton is roiling in his grave right now. Let's not forget all taxpayers are paying for this .

We need a platform that publishes stories that matter to our community without censorship or gatekeeping. Local media too often ignore emails and fail to respond leaving important issues unreported and residents unheard. This platform fills that gap by offering a reliable, responsive place to share timely, relevant news and community concerns.

We need transparency and diverse perspectives that reflect everyone in our community, not just a few voices. We need accountability and reporting that investigates issues that impact daily life, from local government decisions to neighborhood safety and public services.

We need this platform to keep amplifying overlooked stories, listening to community input, and holding institutions accountable. Please continue supporting and expanding it our community depends on it.
