Human rights tribunal rules in favour of Yukon woman denied midwifery care.Territorial government ordered to pay over $36,000 in damages

This is what I don't get when it comes to government bitching about cutting costs and don't have the money for basic services for taxpayers, but always have tons of money to waste to go after taxpayers when they win against the government.

The plaintiff used the resources that are pretty limited to us as taxpayers like The Yukon Human rights. It was ruled by the tribunal and awarded the plaintiff $36,000 in damages.

This case was brought under the Liberal Government, so it was the government of the day that lost. The question is why is The Yukon Party Government using the government lawyers to appeal a ruling that was done under the liberals.

The only answer is the government hates to lose. On the other hand we could call it lawfare. The simplest way to put would be the strategic use of legal proceedings to intimidate or hinder an opponent. Lets not forget taxpayers paying government lawyers to go after them. The question to Minister Lang is why would we vote in a government to come after taxpayers if the government was found to be guilty.

It was reported that The Yukon Human rights Commission is almost out of money. Would it be fair to say the government strategized to defund the commission in order to force the taxpayers to use expensive lawyers and civil court proceeding in order to get justice.

Bottom line if the Premier is crying no money pretty sure that appealing this ruling will definitely cost more then $36,000.

To the Minister I suggests you put all your laws in order before the taxpayers turn the tables on you.

That's my opinion while I still have one
