THE QUESTION IS WHERE DID THE CONTAMINATED SOIL FOR THE TESLIN BRIDGE COME FROM AND HOW IT WAS DEPOSITED WITHOUT OVERSIGHT OR INSPECTION?
TESLIN BRIDGE IS NOW A MONEY PIT OR COVER UP

Contaminated soil scandal — demands for a public investigation
How and where did this contaminated soil come from? That’s the million‑dollar question. Inspectors and engineers charged with oversight must be held accountable for this failure. It is unacceptable that the cost of an irresponsible contractor or negligent environmental consultant now falls to taxpayers — an now an initial baseline of $194 million, according to Minister Benoit, that she admits could rise. Of course it will — these projects always do.
This looks less like an unfortunate mistake and more like gross negligence, at best, and potential criminal wrongdoing at worst. Attempts to downplay or conceal the scale of the error only deepens public suspicion. Given the staggering financial burden placed on residents and the apparent failures in oversight, this matter demands an immediate, independent public inquiry with full powers to subpoena documents and witnesses, and to refer findings for criminal investigation where warranted. Taxpayers deserve transparency, accountability, and justice.
