YUKON GOVERNMENT DOSEN'T CARE ABOUT OUR CHILDREN NO RESPONSE NO SOLUTION
On April 4 2026 we put a warning out to Yukon parents regarding THE YUKON IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS and in our story explained the signs of organized crime coming after our children. If your children are wearing a shirt like this, it's no longer your children. As a parent we were looking for answers from all political parties for a solution to our organize crime crisis. Here are some statistics that surprised us considering the population here in Yukon.
Combined percent change (2025 vs 2024) for Yukon: violent crimes + drug offences.
2024 violent incidents: 1,518; 2024 drug incidents: 312; combined 2024 = 1,830
2025 violent incidents: 1,626; 2025 drug incidents: 365; combined 2025 = 1,991
Percent change = (1,991 − 1,830) / 1,830 × 100 = +8.8%
Territorial Justice Minister Tracy-Anne McPhee, and Yukon MP Brendan Hanley address guns and gang violence in the Yukon. The Yukon Government received $2.3 million from 2018 to 2023. The money announced is part of a continuation of funding from the federal government to address gun and gang violence. The question were asking is what happened to all that funding and what are the numbers for 2026?
So again are we going to get a non response to a serious problem in our Yukon by our elected officials or are they going to ignore us again?
