OPEN LETTER TO DEPUTY MINISTER TRACEY ALLEN ON YOUR RECENT STATEMENT
Deputy Minister Tracy Allen,
For years residents have reported dangerous road conditions on Hwy 6 (South Canol) to Director of Public Works. Those reports were ignored. Rather than address the hazards, the government has been misleading taxpayers about the quality of its road maintenance and portraying a false narrative of “good work” while failing this community. To note, it doesn't matter which party is elected, it is the bureaucracy that is responsible for the mismanagement of each and every department.
Attached are photos documenting ongoing hazards that put lives at risk and are there to this day. Evidence shows the department was informed and failed to act. Instead of honest remediation, the department has chosen silence, misdirection, and misleading claims to taxpayers.
I demand immediate accountability and transparency:
A public acknowledgment of the reports and their receipt.
A full explanation of what steps were taken after the initial reports and why no repairs were made.
A clear, public timeline for inspection and repair work, with start dates and scope.
Confirmation of the funding source for these repairs and assurance those funds will be allocated to Hwy 6 South Canol.
An independent review of the decision-making that led to this inaction and any attempts to conceal it.
If these demands are not met, I will escalate this matter to higher authorities, oversight bodies, and publish all correspondence publicly.
Residents deserve safe roads and honest officials. We will not be ignored.
Sincerely,
Norm Boisvert

Part of your letter claims a “prompt” response to the fallen tree reported last summer. For the record, that tree was reported on June 13, 2025 and not removed until July 2, 2025 , a 20-day delay. As Deputy Minister, you should verify facts before asserting timely action; presenting an inaccurate timeline misleads taxpayers and undermines trust. Please correct the record, explain why the response took 20 days, and provide the communications or work orders that justified that delay.
